WHO WE ARE
THE GATHERING IS...a casual, contemporary, christian church designed with the urban professionals and young families of Tulsa in mind (though we welcome people of all types and ages!). At The Gathering, we feel that it’s our responsibility to “clear the way” for you to come to church. Through contemporary music, multi-media, and practical messages, we present the timeless truths of the Bible in a format that’s easy to understand, even if you’ve never been to church. And we meet Sunday nights...so you can have your mornings to yourself and still come to church. We hope that you will come join us this week! Our name “The Gathering” comes from the desire of Jesus Christ that His followers would come together regularly to unify and worship. The Gathering is a non-denominational church.
OUR VISION...To Become an ACTS 2 Community with an ACTS 29 Mission—writing the story of God’s church in our generation.
OUR NAME "THE GATHERING"...comes from: (1) a verse that inspired the earliest days of The Gathering—Matthew 18:20 “where two or three are Gathered in my name, I am there among them, (2) a greek word ekklesia which was used to describe the first assemblies or “Gatherings” of the early believers, and (3) a hope that all Christ followers share to one day Gather together as the body of Christ before our God and maker for eternity.
OUR CORE VALUES...Transformation (Matt 22:37-40), Community (Acts 2:42-47), Mission (Matt 28:18-20), and Worship (Romans 12:1-2).
A CHURCH FOR THE CITY...We believe that God has called us to be a church that exists for the good of our city. This means that we exist not just for our own sake but to be a compelling force of good that God can use to impact the lives of the people in our community and beyond. To this extent we seek to assist, love, and welcome the people of our city – that all might experience the incredible grace of God for themselves.
